Fatoumata Ka is 14 years
old and lives in Pampi,
Senegal.

In their village they
haven´t got water, so everyday Fatoumata needs to go to a fountain that sometimes hasn´t water. She needshalf an hour to go to the fountain, then she needs an hour and a half to fill the tank.

Fatoumata goes to school but fetching water and studying don´t go together. She spoke on a radio program about the water problems. After that she got invited to a meeting in Dakar to speak about a water cistern and her village. The meeting was successful and they got the water cistern. Now they always have water and Fatoumata can study for school.
